FORMATION

PART 1 – ROUND CROCHET COASTER

Round 1

Make a Magic Ring.

CH 2, then crochet 12 DC into the ring.

SL ST into the first DC to close the round.

Round 2

CH 2.

Work 2 DC in every stitch around.

SL ST to close.

You should have approximately 24 stitches.

Round 3

CH 2.

Work:

1 DC in the first stitch, 2 DC in the next stitch.

Repeat around.

SL ST to close.

Round 4

CH 2.

Work:

1 DC in the next 2 stitches, 2 DC in the next stitch.

Repeat around.

SL ST to close.

Round 5

CH 2.

Continue increasing evenly around the circle until the coaster reaches approximately 10–12 cm in diameter.

SL ST to close.

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

PART 2 – MAPLE LEAF

Central Stem

CH 18.

Starting in the second chain from the hook, work SC across.

Fasten off.

Main Leaf

SC, HDC, DC, and TR
