Large Eight Petal Flower Motif
Use this pattern for all 8 mustard flowers and both cream flowers.
The mustard and cream motifs are made exactly the same way.

Make a MR.
Ch 3.
Work 15 dc into the ring.
Pull the ring closed.
Join with sl st into the top of beginning ch 3.

Blocking
Lightly block all motifs before joining.
Shape the mustard and cream motifs so all 8 petals are evenly spaced.
Shape the brown motifs into neat circles.
Let them dry completely before assembly.
Arrangement
Lay the motifs on a flat surface before sewing.
From top to bottom arrange them like this:
1 cream flower
2 mustard flowers
1 dark brown medallion
2 mustard flowers

1 cream flower
The two-flower rows should sit side by side.
Each single brown motif should sit centered between the flower pair above and the flower pair below.
The top cream flower should sit centered above the first pair of mustard flowers.
The bottom cream flower should sit centered below the final pair.
Joining The Two Mustard Flowers
Place two mustard motifs side by side.
Allow the neighboring petals to touch slightly.
Using mustard yarn and a yarn needle, sew the tip of one petal to the tip of the neighboring flower petal.
Make another small joining stitch slightly lower on the same petals.
Fasten securely at the back.
Do not sew large sections together.
Small invisible joins allow the hanging to stay flexible.
Joining The Top Cream Flower
Center the cream flower over the first pair of mustard flowers.
The lower left area of the cream flower should touch the upper petal of the left mustard flower.
The lower right area should touch the upper petal of the right mustard flower.

Joining A Brown Medallion
Position one dark brown medallion centrally below a pair of mustard flowers.

Check regularly that the hanging stays straight.
The center of every single motif should line up vertically with the meeting point between the two flowers in each pair.
Top Hanging Loop
Using mustard yarn, attach yarn securely to the top center of the upper cream flower.
Ch 35.
Sl st back into the same attachment point.
For a thicker loop, work 1 sl st into every chain around the loop.
Fasten off securely.
Weave in the ends.
You can make the loop shorter or longer depending on where the hanging will be displayed.
Decorative Top Tassel Style Loop
For a look closer to the photo, cut approximately 12 strands of mustard yarn, each about 28 cm long.
Fold them together in half.
Pull the folded center through the top petal of the cream flower.
Pass all loose ends through the folded loop.
Pull gently to secure.
Divide the strands into two groups.
Twist both groups.
Bring the ends together to create a hanging loop.
Wrap another piece of yarn tightly around the base approximately 1.5 cm above the flower.
Tie securely and hide the ends.
Bottom Tassel
Cut approximately 35 to 45 strands of mustard yarn, each about 28 to 32 cm long.
Place the strands together evenly.
Tie another strand tightly around the middle.
Fold the bundle in half.
Attach the folded center securely to the bottom center petal of the lower cream flower.
Cut another piece of mustard yarn approximately 50 cm long.
Wrap this yarn tightly around the tassel approximately 2 cm below the attachment point.
Wrap around 8 to 12 times.
Tie firmly.
Thread the ends through the wrapped section with a yarn needle.
Trim the bottom of the tassel evenly.
Finished tassel length should be approximately 11 to 14 cm.
Optional Tassel Cord
For the small decorative cord immediately above the tassel, attach mustard yarn to the bottom cream flower.
Ch 8 to 12.
Fasten the tassel to the bottom of this chain.
For a stronger cord, sl st back along every chain before attaching the tassel.
Size Adjustment
For a shorter wall hanging, use only 2 brown motifs and 3 pairs of mustard flowers.

Approximate Finished Motif Size

Finishing
Weave in every yarn end carefully.
Steam or lightly wet block the complete hanging.
Do not stretch the flower petals excessively.
Arrange every pair symmetrically while drying.
Straighten the center medallions so they form one vertical line.
Trim the tassel evenly after the final blocking.
